Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a Behavioural Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Nottingham. You will support pupils aged 3-16 with Autism/ASD, help manage behaviours, and promote positive engagement inside and outside the classroom.

The role starts ASAP 2026, with PAYE payroll and market leading pay rates (£95-£100 per day). The school emphasises tailored learning, patience, resilience and strong communication with students, families and staff.

Qualifications

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in SEND settings.
• Experience supporting children and young people with Autism / ASD.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour with positive behaviour strategies.
• Knowledge of SEND support strategies and understanding of pupils' learning needs.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable with a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism / ASD, helping to manage challenging behaviours.
• Encourage positive engagement in learning and provide consistent support inside the classroom.
• Support pupils' needs inside and outside the classroom and coordinate with staff.
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing environment aligned with SEND goals.
