Job summary

New Chapters is seeking a caring, full-time support worker to help a service user with autism in a supported living setting. The role operates on a 2:1 ratio with shifts typically 12 or 14 hours, and the pay is £13.25 per hour.

You will contribute to activities, personal care, and care planning while maintaining dignity and safety. Applicants should have experience supporting adults with autism and related needs, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm in challenging

Qualifications

• Experience as a support worker with autism and challenging behaviours.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Good English literacy and IT skills.
• Willingness to develop professionally; PBS training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Encourage participation in activities and personal interests.
• Coordinate activities with personalised rotas and appointments.
• Assist with personal care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Implement behaviour management strategies when needed.
