Job summary

UKRI, via the British Geological Survey, is offering a Business Administrator Apprenticeship in Nottingham. You will support risk & assurance processes, audits, data collection and reporting within the function, contributing to management systems across BGS.

The role provides professional development through Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with Access Training, starting November 2026, with a structured on- and off-the-job training plan.

Qualifications

• Achieved 2 GCSE passes at Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
• Excellent written communication skills demonstrated in CV/cover letter.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to work to deadlines and in a team.
• Competent user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience in customer or staff-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Administration of internal and external audits and assessments.
• Assist with development and maintenance of management system documentation.
• Produce regular risk and management system performance reports.
• Maintain the corporate risk register and mitigate actions.
• Support Business Continuity and Incident Response planning.
• Coordinate with other teams across BGS.
• Respond to staff enquiries about management and assurance systems.
• Help ensure health, safety and environment performance.
