About the Role

As an Audit Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering audits effectively across Quilter’s Internal Audit Plan. Your work will support the Board, Executive Management, and Audit and Risk Committees in safeguarding the organisation's assets, reputation, and sustainability. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of Quilter’s business processes for assigned audits and manage multiple audit assignments, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery according to GIA standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess whether all significant risks are identified and properly reported by relevant teams.
  2. Evaluate whether risks are adequately controlled.
  3. Identify opportunities to improve governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  4. Develop understanding of business processes for audits.
  5. Manage multiple audit assignments, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets, following GIA methodology and quality standards.
Audit Delivery
  1. Conduct audits through all stages: planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
  2. Engage with process owners to understand processes and key risks.
  3. Perform targeted audit testing, including root cause analysis.
  4. Propose practical, clear actions to address control weaknesses.
  5. Maintain communication with stakeholders about audit findings and foster ongoing relationships.
Data Analytics
  1. Enhance audit insights through increased use of data analytics techniques.
  2. Proficiency with tools such as R, Python, Power BI is advantageous.
  3. Knowledge of data management best practices and AI tools like Microsoft CoPilot is beneficial.
Other GIA Activities
  1. Manage Issue Assurance activities quarterly.
  2. Support risk monitoring and annual audit planning.
  3. Participate in stakeholder meetings and review business MI.
  4. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, exploring innovative audit approaches.
  5. Travel may be required depending on audit engagements.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong data management skills and familiarity with related tools.

  • Follow GIA’s audit methodology to deliver effective internal audits.
  • Be willing to learn and develop skills, with experience in Microsoft tools (Power BI, CoPilot) preferred.
