Audit Senior (open to varying levels of experience)

Kettering (onsite required to live local to Kettering)

Full-time, Monday to Friday

GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 DOE

We are working with one of the largest UK payroll providers, a leading firm of Accountants and Business Advisers operating across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics. They are expanding their services and require several professionals with Audit & Assurance experience across multiple sites in the UK.

Role:

The Audit Senior is responsible for leading and managing audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. This role involves planning, executing, and completing audit fieldwork according to established timelines. The Audit Senior will also mentor junior staff and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Audit Planning and Execution:
    • Lead audit engagements from planning through completion.
    • Develop audit plans, including risk assessments and procedures.
    • Ensure audits adhere to auditing standards and firm policies.
    • Conduct fieldwork, including substantive testing and internal control evaluations.
  2. Financial Reporting:
    • Review financial statements for compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other standards.
    • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to senior management.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
    • Communicate effectively to understand their business and industry.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to add value.
  4. Staff Supervision and Development:
    • Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff.
    • Review work and provide constructive feedback.
    • Assist in evaluating staff performance.
  5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure documentation is complete and complies with quality standards.
    • Stay updated on changes in standards, regulations, and industry practices.
  6. Other Duties:
    • Participate in firm initiatives and projects.
    • Assist in business development activities, including proposals and presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent qualification (part-qualified candidates considered).
  • 3-5 years of audit experience in an accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant standards.
  • Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High professionalism and ethical standards.
