Our client is looking for an ambitious and motivated individual seeking to progress within a rapidly growing team delivering advice in a sector well known throughout the UK.

You will assist the audit manager and partner in managing a portfolio of clients, including companies, partnerships, and sole practitioners, primarily focusing on corporate audit work.

The Responsibilities

• Fully supervise a portfolio of clients, managing all aspects of their audit affairs and ad hoc projects
• Plan and execute audit fieldwork, statutory financial reporting, and completion work
• Coordinate with the tax department, handling tax computations and related issues
• Maintain and oversee a portfolio mainly consisting of audit clients
• Work at client premises, liaising with clients for daily queries and inquiries
• Supervise and coach staff members
• Update managers and partners on progress
• Prepare and update benchmarking data reports for audit and corporate finance use
• Assist the corporate finance team with assignments such as acquisitions, business disposals, financing, business planning, projections, and sector analysis

The Person – Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with privately owned and private equity-backed companies across various regions, gaining sector knowledge to become a more comprehensive business adviser.

• Recently or newly qualified ACA / CA / ACCA
• Experience with controls testing, substantive and analytical review audits, including consolidations and group audits, using paperless electronic audit files
• Understanding of the broader audit context and individual balance auditing
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards
• Strong supervisory skills, including coaching and motivating audit assistants
• Effective project management skills, decision-making, analytical thinking, time management, and organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively in a team environment
