Job summary

Ambition in the UK is seeking an Associate Director for Audit, Accounts & Tax to lead a diverse client portfolio, manage audits from planning through to completion, and mentor junior team members within a growing Top 20 firm.

You will collaborate with Partners and senior leadership to deliver high-quality audit and assurance services, strengthen client relationships, drive business development, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

Associate Director - Audit, Accounts & Tax

Do you want to work in a Top 20 practice with exceptional learning, development, and career progression opportunities?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced audit professional to join a forward-thinking and growing firm. As an Audit Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, and play a key role in developing both client relationships and junior team members.

You'll work closely with Partners and senior leadership, delivering high-quality audit and assurance services while helping to drive the continued growth and success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage audit engagements

Take responsibility for planning, coordinating, and delivering audit assignments, ensuring work is completed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Manage and develop client relationships

Act as a trusted adviser to clients, building strong relationships, understanding their business challenges, and providing proactive solutions and insights.

Review and oversee financial reporting

Ensure financial statements, audit files, and associated documentation are prepared and reviewed in accordance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal quality procedures.

Lead, mentor, and develop audit teams

Manage and support junior team members, providing coaching, technical guidance, and regular feedback to help develop their skills and career progression.

Contribute to business growth and firm development

Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships, support business development initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvements across audit processes and service delivery.

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
  • Proven experience managing audit assignments and client relationships
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to add value to clients
