Job summary

AAB is seeking an Audit Manager to lead a portfolio of clients within the External Audit team in Bolton. This permanent role sits in a collaborative, values-driven firm that supports growth, development, and delivery of high-quality audits for diverse clients.

You will oversee client relationships, manage engagements within budget, and guide staff through review and training to reinforce professional standards and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA) or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing and developing a client portfolio.
• Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues.
• Good experience of business development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of clients and provide support to others within the firm.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and colleagues.
• Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets.
• Review work prepared by other staff and ensure quality control.
• Ensure the firm’s professional standards are met and work is presented to the partner in a finished form.
• Contribute to training, guidance, and mentoring of staff.
