Job summary

Curtis Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Audit Manager in Birmingham to plan, organise and manage a portfolio of corporate audit clients. Ideal candidates will be ACCA/ACA qualified with at least two years post-qualification experience in a UK accountancy firm.

The role also supports practice development in audit, accounts preparation and outsourcing for corporate clients. A competitive salary and benefits package including medical cover, pension, death in service, enhanced maternity leave

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent experience; FCA or FCCA is desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification proven experience within a UK audit practice environment.
• Experience of managing staff within a practice environment.
• Experience of working with charities and academies would be an advantage.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours as required.
• Live within commuting distance of central Birmingham.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients, providing excellent service on a cost effective and timely basis.
• Developing knowledge of clients and their businesses as the day-to-day point of contact.
• Responding to client queries and those from third parties (e.g., HMRC).
• Seek to gain experience and progress roles by delegating routine work to others and taking more advanced work from partners, aiding cost-effectiveness and staff training.
• Review and finalise audit files, accounts and corporation tax work prepared by junior staff.
• Liaising with partners regarding WIP and billing; monitoring progress against deadlines.
• Ensuring work is planned and progressed in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner.
