Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our Southampton Audit team. In your role, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients, managing relationships between clients and the engagement team. Your focus will be on engagement management, supervising others to deliver excellent client service and high-quality audits. You may also assist with team, department, and wider firm management, and be involved in non-audit assignments on an ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and guiding quality, managing risk at the engagement level, and focusing on high-quality service
• Ensuring client expectations are exceeded by connecting the right team members to key contacts
• Managing resources across the department, monitoring workload, and communicating openly
• Monitoring audit engagement status, proactively communicating findings to clients and Partners
• Conducting performance appraisals, coaching, and presenting as required
• Managing fees and billing, forecasting costs, and negotiating overruns

Qualifications

To be successful, you should possess:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent) with significant external audit experience in a professional services environment
• Experience in business development activities such as proposals, networking, and targeting
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (FRS 102, IFRS), industry specifics
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, Partners, and staff
• Experience in people management and motivating staff
