Audit Manager – London

The Role:

As Audit Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of industries. You’ll oversee the end-to-end audit process, ensuring high standards of delivery while building lasting client relationships. This role also involves managing and developing a team of seniors and junior staff, providing guidance and support throughout audit engagements. You'll work closely with senior leadership, contributing to the firm’s continued growth and audit quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, leading audit engagements from planning through to completion
• Oversee a team of Audit Seniors and junior staff, providing training, mentoring, and performance feedback
• Review audit files for technical accuracy and compliance
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify areas for further support or advisory services
• Report to senior management and partners on progress, key issues, and resource planning
• Ensure audits are delivered within timeframes and budget
• Support wider departmental initiatives, including quality assurance and staff development

What You’ll Need:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Proven experience managing audits within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and auditing standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead audit teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• A proactive, collaborative mindset and a commitment to high audit standards
