Audit Manager – Sutton (Top 40 Accountancy Practice)

Location: Sutton, London (Hybrid & Flexible Working)

Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Our client, a growing Top 40 accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their expanding team in Sutton.

The Role

As Audit Manager, you will:

• Develop and apply your technical and commercial knowledge to provide expert advice and exceed client expectations.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, serving as their primary point of contact. Your portfolio will include both new and long-standing clients, with opportunities to develop further revenue streams and support new business generation.
• Handle ad hoc client queries and provide tailored advice.
• Lead and manage audit assignments through to completion, overseeing team delivery, budgets, billing, and client satisfaction.
• Support business development activities such as tenders and proposals, helping raise the firm’s profile externally.
• Contribute to the management of the audit and wider compliance team, including quality control and process improvements.
• Line manage junior staff, providing coaching and development support.
• Stay up to date on technical audit and accounting standards, delivering training and knowledge-sharing to maintain high standards across the team.

Candidate Requirements

• ACCA or ACA qualified, with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience working in a UK practice environment.
• Proven experience at Assistant Manager or Manager level within audit.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Commercial awareness and the confidence to contribute to business development initiatives.
