Audit Manager

Are you an experienced auditor looking to take the next step in your leadership journey with a highly reputable regional firm?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking accountancy practice in Birmingham that’s seeking an Audit Manager to join their close-knit team. Known for delivering excellent client service across a broad mix of sectors, this firm values technical expertise, strong people skills, and a genuine team spirit.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified auditor who’s confident managing a diverse audit portfolio and leading a team of motivated professionals. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining high-quality audit delivery, shaping team development, and enhancing the firm’s audit offering in a dynamic and evolving market.

Role Responsibilities

• Overseeing all audit assignments to ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal processes
• Leading regular team briefings, technical updates, and training sessions
• Supporting the growth and development of junior team members through mentoring and coaching
• Contributing to process improvements, system upgrades, and ideas to elevate client service
• Compiling a quarterly audit update report highlighting industry and technical developments
• Attending occasional out-of-hours networking events to enhance firm and personal visibility
• Keeping abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the local area

About the Firm

With a client base that spans a variety of sectors including owner-managed businesses, FCA-regulated entities, charities, and group structures, the firm prides itself on combining technical excellence with a personalised approach.

Candidate Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified (essential).
• At least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in audit.
• Ideally with an audit-specific qualification (not essential).
• Strong working knowledge of:
• FRS 102
• Owner-managed businesses and SMEs
• FCA clients, including CASS reporting requirements
• IFRS
• Charities and the not-for-profit sector
