Effective L&D requires specialist resources to identify needs and respond appropriately, with careful planning, project management, and a commercial mindset. It also involves leveraging the latest tools, technology, and innovation to create tailored, relevant, and timely development opportunities.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Manager / Senior Manager or equivalent to join our Learning Development team. The role is suited for a high-performing, ambitious individual eager to support current initiatives and shape future L&D strategy during a growth phase. The role reports to the Development and Monitoring Lead (DAM).

The Learning Development team designs and curates content for our audit programme, aiming to develop impactful, innovative solutions that meet learner needs and deliver business outcomes. The team includes technical and non-technical specialists responsible for authoring activities.

Lead authors collaborate with Business Partners and Audit SMEs to understand business objectives, translate them into learning objectives, and design effective learning interventions using innovative methodologies. They also support project management and facilitate programmes when appropriate.

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of programmes, review content, coach junior team members, and support initiatives like our Learning Library and Learning Culture programmes.

Applicants should have practical audit experience, a solid understanding of financial reporting, ethics, and professional conduct, and experience in designing technical learning content. Formal design qualifications are beneficial but not essential; relevant on-the-job experience will be considered.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with travel to London and other offices, including residential stays for certain courses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing impactful, innovative content aligned with business needs
  • Reviewing content created by others to ensure quality and consistency
  • Building relationships with content SMEs
  • Supporting programme delivery with project management and facilitation
  • Designing and creating technical and non-technical learning content
  • Providing coaching and development support to team members
  • Training facilitators and hosts
  • Leveraging audit experience for relevant content development
  • Upskilling junior members and expanding L&D expertise
  • Collaborating with Business Partners and Technology teams to incorporate innovation
  • Supporting strategic initiatives and advocating change

Required skills and experience:

  • Background in programme development, with experience in technical and non-technical audit content
  • Experience with regulatory reporting is preferred
  • Proven authoring and reviewing skills; formal qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of design thinking, innovation, and learning technologies
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills to coach and develop others
  • Interest in behavioural change and cultural programmes is a plus
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to translate learning needs into effective content
  • Focus on quality and delivering business value
