We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Director to join our FS Audit team. In this role, you will lead audit engagements, ensuring high-quality standards from planning to completion. You will sign audit opinions for your portfolio and collaborate with Partners on complex audits. Building relationships with senior stakeholders and developing those relationships will be key. You may also contribute to departmental operations related to finance, technology, quality, or people management.
As a Director, you will serve as a role model, leading teams, supervising staff, and providing coaching and development. You will also handle performance management for a small team.
Description of the Role
- Oversee budgeting, planning, coordination, and control of audit engagements to ensure quality and profitability.
- Manage and review the work of team members, ensuring compliance with KPMG methodologies and standards.
- Project manage all aspects of audit delivery, including timelines, team supervision, and review processes.
- Maintain communication with senior stakeholders within audited entities throughout the year.
- Manage stakeholder relationships to facilitate audit execution.
- Oversee engagement finances, including fee negotiations and overruns.
- Make judgments on complex audit issues.
- Coordinate with KPMG specialists on technical matters.
- Review engagement deliverables and present at audit committee meetings.
- Lead audit tenders for new clients.
- Manage and develop junior team members, supporting their career growth.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements
- Significant recent experience as an Audit Director in external audit, including systems/controls testing, consolidations, and statutory review.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Understanding of International Standards on Auditing.
- Experience with US GAAS / PCOAB standards and US GAAP (preferred).
- Experience presenting at audit committee meetings.
- Proven ability to manage complex audits and teams.
- Familiarity with proprietary audit software.
- IT literacy with MS Office tools.
