Grant Thornton in Cardiff is recruiting an Audit Associate for our Commercial service line. You will begin your audit career with a firm that supports your studies while delivering high-quality audits for a varied client base.

You'll be part of an audit team, perform fieldwork, help prepare financial statements, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. We value curiosity, initiative, and the ability to balance work with exam commitments as you progress.

A look into the role

As an Audit Associate in our Commercial service line, you will:

• Work as part of an audit team on a varied portfolio of clients, supporting the delivery of quality audits
• Carry out audit fieldwork, including testing, documenting your work and preparing working papers to a high standard
• Help prepare and review aspects of financial statements, with guidance from more experienced colleagues
• Build strong working relationships with your team and with client contacts
• Learn from your seniors and take on more responsibility as your confidence grows
• Balance your day job with your exam studies, with the support of your team

Knowing you're right for us

The minimum you'll need is to be studying for a professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, ACCA or CIPFA). It would be great if you had some of the following, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way:

• A working understanding of UK GAAP and FRS 102 (or a keen interest in learning it)
• Curiosity about our clients and how their businesses work
• Confidence using Microsoft packages, with audit software experience a bonus
• Good organisation and the ability to manage your time between client work and study
• A genuine interest in building your technical knowledge
