You will undertake audits for a range of clients across various sectors, including owner-managed businesses, charities, and educational entities. You should have a proactive approach and confidence in managing a diverse workload. There will also be opportunities to mentor and support the development of our trainees.

You will be responsible for managing the audit team's workflow and play a key role in planning, conducting on-site fieldwork, executing, and finalising the audit process. Supervising the audit team’s work to resolve issues proactively before escalation to the Manager/Partner is essential.

You will hold a significant portfolio of clients and maintain regular contact to foster strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan audits in advance, ensuring they address identified risks and meet objectives
  • Lead audits to ensure timely completion within budget
  • Prepare complex consolidated financial statements and perform advanced accounting tasks
  • Assign responsibilities within the audit team during planning
  • Ensure compliance with audit standards and regulations
  • Maintain excellent commercial practices in WIP management, billing, and efficiency
  • Participate in audit planning and close-out meetings with leadership
  • Lead audits of commercial and non-profit clients, managing teams of up to five members
  • Draft management letters with recommendations for improvements in accounting systems and controls
What do I need?
  • Relevant audit experience, preferably in a practice setting
  • Full qualification in ACA or ACCA
  • Strong communication skills for client and internal interactions
  • A full driving license and access to transport
  • A team player who thrives in a busy environment
