Qualifications

  • 3+ years practice experience in audit.
  • Part or newly qualified ACA/ACCA or AAT.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Experience with client handling and teamwork.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • First time passes preferred for professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on audits alongside the Audit Manager and RI within client teams.
  • Plan audits, assess risk, and guide testing levels.
  • Supervise audit staff and onboard trainees on site.
  • Oversee audit plans and maintain daily progress against targets.
  • Provide training and feedback to the team to improve delivery.
  • Ensure deadlines are met in coordination with RI/Audit Manager and clients.
  • Brief RI, Audit Manager, and clients on key audit judgments.
  • Contribute to internal training programs and knowledge sharing.
  • Support Client Partners and RI in growing the audit team.

Your new role:

This is an exciting role within a fun and dynamic team, where you'll work with a varied portfolio of clients across outsourced services.

As an experienced Audit Senior, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries. You will work closely with the manager team and RI and be responsible for organising and completing audit jobs, tasks and project components as well as coaching and directing assistants.

You will have strong knowledge and experience in the area of audit, as well as knowledge and experience in accounts and disclosure requirements.

An Audit Senior is a key role in our team and we focus on building on the foundations you will already have, but broadening your knowledge so that you can become a Manager and client advisor in the future, who can really make a difference to any business.

Duties & key responsibilities:
  • Key role as part of a team on all the audits.
  • Lead alongside the Audit Manager on client relationship and client point of contact for the audit service.
  • Planning of the audits with the RI and Audit Manager, assessing risk and guiding the level of testing required in each area.
  • Supervision of the audit teams to assist and develop individuals and form relationships with clients, with an on-site presence.
  • Oversee the audit plan and ensure the team is on target each day. Understand reasons for work taking longer so this can be addressed via training or revised budgeting.
  • Enthuse the team to enjoy their time on audit and add value to the client.
  • Review and feedback to team on improvements needed.
  • Supporting, training and developing Audit Trainees
  • Ensure the team meet deadlines agreed with the RI/Audit Manager and the client.
  • Briefing of RI and Audit Manager on all key audit judgements.
  • Closing meeting with the client and briefing of Client Partner.
  • Develop the team's knowledge and ability by supporting the internal training program and on the job training.
  • Supporting the Client Partners, RI and Audit Manager to develop and build an audit team capable of growth.
  • Committed to the culture and values of the firm and leading by example.
Skills & abilities:
  • Strong grasp of audit standards
  • Good working knowledge of Excel to prepare formula driven analysis and formatted sheets that can be shared as client deliverables.
  • Ability to communicate and ask for help where required.
  • Passion to listen and learn new skills.
  • Ability to help other team members with less experience.
Knowledge & experience:
  • Having gained experience in a similar role with a practice environment - Preferably at least 3 years Practice experience in audit
  • Part or newly qualified ACA,ACCA or AAT qualified
  • Experience of working within a team
  • Computer skills: MS Office applications - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • CA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent (first time passes preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK Financial Reporting Standards
  • Knowledge of IRIS and MyWorkpapers preferred.
