Curtis Recruitment Limited is recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Senior to join the Banbury office on behalf of a well‑established accountancy practice. You will support managers and directors in delivering audit and accounts services to a diverse client base.

Qualifications

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with 3+ years in UK practice.
  • Part-qualified with at least two years’ experience considered.
  • Extensive audit experience from planning to completion.
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation and taxation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong IT skills; driving licence and travel to client premises.

Responsibilities

  • Audit planning and risk assessment.
  • Guide and develop onsite team and ensure documentation.
  • Conclude on audit findings for Director's review.
  • Develop relationships to deliver audits and accounts.
  • Maintain communication with managers throughout audit.
  • Manage budgets and inform manager.
  • Prepare limited company accounts for clients.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.

Job description

We are recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Senior on behalf of a well‑established, dynamic accountancy practice, to join the audit and accounts team at the firm’s Banbury office. The role is available due to continued growth and will support managers and directors in providing services to existing and new clients.

Clients are from a variety of sectors, including not‑for‑profit, and the role will focus upon audit and assurance with some statutory accounts preparation, corporate and personal tax providing variation in workload.

Responsibilities
  • Audit planning – identifying audit risks, setting materiality and designing appropriate tests.
  • Guiding and developing a team onsite, taking decisions and ensuring audit files have appropriate and sufficient documentation in a clear and concise manner – delivering a positive client experience.
  • Concluding on key audit findings for the Director’s review.
  • Developing strong relationships to deliver effective audits and accounts.
  • Maintaining regular and effective communication with managers and the team throughout the audit process.
  • Managing budgets proactively and keeping the manager informed.
  • Preparing limited company accounts for a variety of clients, to be reviewed by Managers/Directors.
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations for review and preparation of personal tax returns.
Qualifications
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Part‑qualified candidates with at least two years’ experience are also considered.
  • Extensive audit experience from planning to completion.
  • Experience of statutory accounts preparation and taxation.
  • Positive and self‑motivated with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Keen interest in supporting and developing trainees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong general IT skills, MS Excel and Word, and ideally with a working knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and CCH.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to client premises.

Additionally, candidates must have experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
