Job summary

A Brighton-based accountancy practice is seeking an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior to join its friendly, supportive team. With around two years of audit experience and progression towards ACA/ACCA, you will deliver high-quality statutory audits and accounts for diverse clients.

You will work with Audit Managers and Directors, developing technical skills through on-the-job experience and professional studies, while benefiting from guidance from experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

• Around two years of experience working within audit in an accountancy practice.
• Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA.
• Essential knowledge and experience of FRS 102.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts would be advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using IRIS would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and completion of statutory audits for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation to a high standard.
• Complete allocated sections of audit files accurately and within deadlines.
• Identify potential audit issues and escalate to the Audit Manager or Director.
• Assist with preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent service.
• Work with colleagues across audit and accounts teams to complete assignments efficiently.
• Provide guidance and support to trainees to develop their knowledge and skills.
• Continue building technical expertise through on-the-job experience and studies.
