Space 8 Recruitment is supporting a well-established practice to recruit an Audit & Accounts professional with a clear route to Practice Director within five years. The role splits 60% audit and 40% accounts and tax work, offering flexi-time, two days at home, and strong career development.

The ideal candidate has UK practice experience, solid audit and accounts expertise, and ACA/ACCA qualification (or near-qualified with study support). A driver with own car is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of audit and accounts preparation, with emphasis on auditing standards, processes and procedures.
• Good understanding of UK GAAP, particularly FRS 102.
• Experience with multi-entity group situations and consolidated accounts preparation and audit.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Professional approach with attention to detail and client-facing confidence.
• Driver with own car.
• ACA or ACCA qualified; consideration for part-qualified with study support.

Space 8 Recruitment are thrilled to be supporting a well-established and hugely successful practice to recruit an Audit & accounts professional who aspires to become a Practice Director within less than 5 years. Who are they? This practice employs 21 staff with 3 Partners. They were established 40 years ago and have a good mix of loyal clients who they have had for decades and new business. They work across many industries including recruitment, manufacturing, legal, retail & charities and their client's turnovers range from <£15m to over £50m. They describe themselves as being pretty relaxed, it's a very happy team and the culture is very positive. Many of the team have been there for 10 years +.

The Role:

This role is part of a succession plan, with a route to Director within 5 years (likely to be less) The role is 60% audit and 40% accounts and tax work.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience in both audit and accounts preparation but a strong knowledge of both in particular auditing standards, processes and procedures. (We use the Merciapaper-based audit and accounts processes.)
• Good understanding of UK GAAP - particularly FRS 102.
• Exposure to multi company group situations and consolidated accounts preparation and audit
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Professional approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with clients.
• Driver with own car
• ACA/ACCA qualified but we will consider a part-qualified or nearly qualified individual with the potential for some study support for the right candidate.
