Job summary

TC Group in Croydon is seeking an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager/Manager to lead audits for SME clients within a growing Top 20 firm. You’ll manage planning, budgeting, and deadlines, review working papers, and provide technical guidance while acting as the main client contact.

The role requires ACA/ACCA and 5+ years audit experience in practice, with strong Excel and knowledge of Iris/MyWorkPapers. Hybrid working available and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualification
• Minimum 5 years audit experience in accountancy practice
• Up to date with auditing standards and company law
• Good tax knowledge incl. corporation tax; VAT/payroll taxes advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
• Analytical with attention to detail and problem solving
• Ability to take ownership from start to finish
• Experience with a range of clients; FCA experience beneficial
• Proficient with Excel; knowledge of Iris/MyWorkPapers Mercia helpful
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Looking to progress in career and develop

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, budgeting, and scheduling of audits.
• Ensure audits are completed within deadlines and budget.
• Review working papers, testing, and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve complex issues.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients.
• Maintain strong relationships and manage expectations.
• Mentor and develop junior staff.
• Review draft financial statements and disclosures.
• Manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients
