Job summary

Reed in Chester is seeking an Audit & Accounts Assistant to join a friendly, supportive team and gain exposure to both audit and accounts. You’ll work closely with seniors and managers across a varied client base, developing strong technical and practical experience.

This role is ideal for someone early in their accountancy career who wants hands-on client work, a clear development path, and access to study support (ACA/ACCA). Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice (audit, accounts or mixed role).
• Studying towards ACA / ACCA (or looking to start).
• Good understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for a range of clients.
• Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Preparing working papers and audit documentation.
• Assisting with basic tax computations and returns.
• Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Working closely with seniors and managers to develop technical skills.
