Are you a highly organised, professional audio typist looking to make a difference in a specialist healthcare setting? We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our friendly and dynamic administrative team within the Specialised Rehabilitation Service – Spinal Injuries.
In this vital role, you’ll provide high-quality administrative and audio typing support to ensure the smooth running of our service and help deliver excellent patient care. Your attention to detail, ability to prioritise, and commitment to confidentiality will be key in supporting our clinical teams.
What We’re Looking For:
Excellent audio typing and computer skills – OCR Level II or equivalent office-based typing experience is essential.
Previous administrative experience in a busy office setting, ideally within the NHS or a similar healthcare environment.
A methodical, organised and flexible approach, with the ability to manage competing demands.
Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful attitude at all times.
A commitment to upholding the Trust’s PROUD values (Patient first, Respectful, Ownership, Unity, Deliver)
. Ensure the typing of clinical correspondence is accurate and timely to distribute to patients and care professionals.
. Support the Secretarial Team with adhoc admin duties as and when appropriate.
. Audio type clinicians letters from dictation. Undertake administration functions for the department, such as data input, photocopying, filing, letter writing, etc.
. Undertake accurate recording / inputting and amending of data within Trust information systems.
. Communicate effectively with the use of tact and diplomacy, and seek to overcome barriers to effective communication. This may require the use of multiple communication methods.
. Work collaboratively with the wider departmental team to ensure a consistent and effective Patient First service.
. Actively use initiative within the role but seek guidance when required and appropriate.
. Assist and support in the development and improvement of the service and in the implementation of Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.
. Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust and actively participate in personal development.
. Assist and support the development and training of new team members.
. Undertake effective prioritisation of own workload and the coordination of activities / duties related to the role.
. Adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
