Job summary

Maru Search & Consultancy supports an iconic British hi-fi manufacturer to grow its DSP team. This hands-on role writes real-time embedded firmware for the SHARC DSP at the heart of streaming audio products.

You will take ideas from MATLAB to C on hardware, write drivers for DAC/ADC and volume control, and bring up DSP circuits on prototype boards with the electronics team. Collaboration with acoustics and clear documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded DSP experience on real hardware (SHARC is a bonus).
• Strong C programming skills for real-time systems.
• Electronics engineering background with solid maths base.
• Audio DSP concepts: filters, SRC, FFT, dynamic range control.

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded software for new products, DSP-focused.
• Build processing chain components in MATLAB, then implement in C on the DSP.
• Write drivers for peripherals (DAC/ADC, volume control).
• Bring up DSP and audio circuitry on prototype boards with test gear.
• Collaborate with acoustics team to improve performance and sound quality.
• Interface with firmware engineers, perform peer code reviews, document clearly.
