Job summary

Barnsley Council is recruiting Driver Attendants to join our busy travel support team, providing transport for children with special educational needs between home, school and adult day care. You will work roughly 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon during term time.

A clean D1-endorsed driving licence is essential, and an Enhanced DBS check is required. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and encourage applications from those seeking a second chance.

Qualifications

• Driver Attendants provide travel assistance for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities between home, school/college and adult day care.
• Working hours are approximately 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon during term time.
• A clean driving licence with a D1 endorsement is essential.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• CVs are not accepted.
• Overseas criminal records checks may be required for overseas applicants.

We are looking to recruit Driver Attendants to join our busy expanding team providing travel assistance for children with special educational needs and or disabilities between their home, school or college, together with transport to adult day care. Your working hours will be approximately 2 hours first thing in the morning and then a further 2 hours in the afternoon during the school term time.

You will need to enjoy driving, have empathy and patience with children and adults who have special needs and possess a polite professional manner. A clean driving license with a D1 endorsement is essential. If you have these qualities, we would love to hear from you.
