Job summary

Harrogate Grammar School is seeking an Attendance Officer to join the Pastoral Services team. You will oversee daily attendance, punctuality, and reporting, working with students, parents and staff to remove barriers to regular attendance.

You will monitor attendance data, identify trends, and support interventions to improve outcomes for pupils within a positive pastoral environment. Experience in a school setting and familiarity with attendance systems are desirable.

Job description

We are looking for an Attendance Officer to join our Pastoral Services team and play a key role in supporting our ambitious aim of achieving 97% attendance across the school. This is an important role at the heart of our pastoral provision. You will take responsibility for the accurate and timely administration of daily attendance and punctuality, working closely with students, parents, teachers and pastoral colleagues to identify concerns and help remove barriers to regular attendance. You will be responsible for monitoring and analysing attendance information, following up absences and producing accurate reports and statistical information to support effective decision-making. You will also work alongside pastoral staff to identify patterns, trends and groups of students requiring additional support.
