Job summary

Co-op Academy Stoke on Trent is seeking an Attendance Improvement Officer to drive better attendance for students at risk of persistent absence. You will lead targeted interventions, manage cases, and work closely with families to remove barriers to regular attendance.

You will collaborate with Heads of Year and safeguarding colleagues to ensure coordinated support, monitor impact, and escalate when needed to meet safeguarding and academy targets.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent essential
• NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent essential

Responsibilities

• Improve attendance for students at risk of persistent or severe absence.
• Conduct targeted interventions and case management with identified students.
• Maintain regular contact with families, including home visits and attendance meetings.
• Coordinate reintegration following periods of absence and monitor progress.
• Escalate cases when attendance does not improve per academy procedures.

Education
