Job summary

King’s Academy Bay House School is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join its experienced Attendance Team. You will support recording and reporting pupil attendance, implementing strategies to overcome barriers to good attendance and engage with parents to improve outcomes.

Working closely with the Deputy Headteacher, Pastoral and Safeguarding Teams, you will drive improved attendance for EBSA students and persistent absentees, while ensuring deadlines are met and MIS systems are used

Qualifications

• Extremely well organised with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to think creatively to address attendance issues and barriers.
• Strong engagement with parents, carers, pupils and staff to improve attendance.
• Experience with school systems and attendance reporting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the attendance team and support recording and reporting of pupil attendance and absence.
• Develop and apply strategies to overcome barriers to good attendance.
• Engage with parents/carers and pupils to address attendance issues.
• Work collaboratively with safeguarding and pastoral teams to drive improved attendance.
