Job summary

Maritime Academy in Strood is seeking a Deputy Attendance Improvement Coordinator to support the Attendance Improvement Coordinator in reducing absence levels and helping students succeed.

You will work with school staff, Attendance Advisory Service and parents to improve attendance, maintain accurate registers, and develop initiatives to motivate pupils to achieve outstanding attendance. The role offers a supportive team and a real chance to make a difference.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of attendance in schools, monitoring, recording and referral processes.
• Ability to work with school staff, families and external services to improve attendance.
• Attention to detail with accurate attendance registers and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Work with School and Trust staff, the Attendance Advisory Service and parents to improve attendance and punctuality.
• Assist in developing initiatives to motivate pupils to achieve excellent attendance.
• Ensure attendance registers are completed accurately and on time.
• Liaise confidently with parents/carers regarding attendance matters.
