Job summary

Leicestershire County Council's Oakfield Short Stay School site is looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to support pupils and families and raise attendance levels. The role is term-time, permanent, with 37 hours per week across multiple sites and a DBS check is required.

You will work in a trauma-informed, child-centered team, delivering interventions, coordinating with agencies and contributing to inclusive education for pupils who struggle in mainstream settings.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to NVQ 3 level qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience with pupils with special educational needs in school or PRU.
• Experience supporting pupils with low attendance and removing barriers.
• Experience working with external agencies.
• Experience in administration and IT (MS Office).
• Excellent communication, reliability and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, delivery and evaluation of pupil and family interventions.
• Run programmes for parents to develop knowledge of child development.
• Develop information and training packs for parents with agencies.
• Promote inclusion and ensure pupils feel valued and supported.
