Job summary

Quarry Bank Primary School is seeking an Attendance Officer to join a friendly team. The role focuses on improving attendance and engagement for pupils aged 3–11 in a modern building. It is a permanent part-time post, 39 weeks per year, 23 hours weekly (8:00–12:00 and 3 hours).

The appointment is overseen by Dudley Council with safeguarding considerations and DBS checks. Visits to the school are encouraged before closing; right-to-work verification applies.

Qualifications

• Committed to the role and highly motivated to improve student attendance.
• Reliable and hard-working with a proactive approach to engagement.
• Experience or interest in safeguarding and attendance data would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student attendance and improve attendance throughout the school.
• Monitor and report on whole-school attendance data, analysing data and trends to identify key areas of concern.
• Work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to reduce levels of absence and address safeguarding issues.
• Craft individualised attendance plans and provide support as appropriate.
• Identify safeguarding issues in line with the school procedures.
