Job summary

Willenhall E-ACT Academy is seeking an Attendance Manager to lead attendance strategies, monitor trends, and drive improvement across the academy. The role requires strong data skills, collaboration with families and safeguarding leads, and a commitment to pupil welfare and outcomes.

You will report to the DSL and develop proactive interventions, manage first day absence processes, and deliver regular attendance reporting to inform school improvement plans.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of attendance improvement strategies.
• Experience of leading attendance management in a school environment.
• Experience of using data to identify issues and produce reports and experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential student information.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage attendance strategies and supporting procedures throughout the Academy.
• Lead first day absence management systems and processes.
• Use data to provide regular and ad hoc detailed reports and information for Academy attendance monitoring.
• Establish reasons for non-attendance, make assessments and agree plans to facilitate a return to school using appropriate strategies within specified timescales.
• Conduct formal meetings with parents/carers in response to individual attendance and punctuality issues and ensure follow up actions are implemented and monitored.
