Job summary

West Somerset College in Minehead is seeking an Attendance Support Officer to help manage student attendance. This part-time post offers 27.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year (term-time plus INSET days) and is paid within BTCT Band 05, from £16,730.90 per annum.

You will administer attendance systems, produce reports, liaise with parents, support teaching and pastoral staff, and help address attendance concerns, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer
• Ability to work with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents and external agencies
• Strong administrative and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Administer attendance recording systems
• Produce attendance reports and provide data to staff
• Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns
• Support teaching and pastoral staff in monitoring attendance
• Organise and monitor detentions relating to lateness
• Provide general administrative support to the office team
