School-Home Support (SHS) is seeking a dedicated Attendance and Family Support Worker to join our team in Blackpool. The role focuses on improving school attendance and delivering holistic family support alongside school staff to boost educational outcomes.

You will build strong relationships with families and professionals, coordinate casework, and contribute to a programme that raises attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning. This is a permanent, term-time role with inset days.

Attendance and Family Support Worker

SHS Family Support Practitioner focusing on improving attendance in schools and whole-family support

Location: Blackpool

Salary: £10,847- £11,616 per annum (This role is term-time only, the salary is in line with working weeks)

Hours: 2.5 days per week, Term Time Only + inset days

We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and to make a difference in childrens lives every single day. As the Family Support Practitioner, you will be based at the setting and work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

You’ll have previous experience of:

• working in an education setting or similar to improve a child’s school attendance and engagement in learning
• working and engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support
• factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn
• working with families from diverse communities
• holistic family support
• safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children
