Job summary

Refugee Action in the UK is recruiting a part-time advisor to support asylum seekers within the asylum system, with 14 hours per week on a permanent basis. The role requires up-to-date knowledge of asylum processes, strong written advocacy, and the ability to manage a caseload under tight deadlines.

You will work with clients, ensure confidentiality, and adhere to safeguarding policies, with lived experience of displacement welcomed.

Qualifications

• Recent knowledge of the asylum support system and asylum processes.
• Experience providing advice on asylum entitlements and legislation.
• Understanding of Public Law and Human Rights Law in asylum contexts.
• Ability to take instructions, draft pre-action protocol letters and witness statements.
• Excellent written communication and ability to present evidence clearly.
• Ability to manage workloads and use IT for data recording and monitoring.
• Experience working with diverse cultures and communities.
• Commitment to confidentiality, impartiality and equality of opportunity.
• Understanding of safeguarding and working with clients with complex needs.
