Job summary

St James’s Piccadilly is seeking a part-time parish worker to support asylum-seeking individuals within the church's refugee network. The role is 21 hours per week across three days, with a salary of £20,070 per year (full-time equivalent £33,450) and a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will have proven experience navigating the UK asylum process, providing pastoral care to trauma-affected individuals, and coordinating volunteers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience navigating the UK asylum process.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with volunteers and building networks.
• At least 2 years’ experience providing pastoral care to trauma-affected individuals.
• Strong Microsoft Office 365 and online communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals through the asylum process.
• Provide trauma-informed pastoral care and guidance.
• Coordinate volunteers and build local networks of support.
• Promote equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
• Uphold safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults.
