Job summary

Essex County Council in Chelmsford is seeking an ASYE Social Work Lead (Adults) on a fixed-term/secondment basis for up to 12 months. The role is part-time, 18.5 to 21 hours per week, with salary pro rata based on hours worked.

The post will coordinate the ASYE programme across Adult Social Care, providing coaching and mentoring for both newly qualified social workers and more experienced staff, and overseeing student placements and Practice Educators.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Qualified Practice Educator with significant experience supervising learners.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Significant experience of social work practice within Adult Social Care with up-to-date knowledge of legislation and guidance.
• Experience mentoring Social Work students and newly qualified staff.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with partners and the local community.
• Proven track record of delivering workforce projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop the ASYE programme to ensure high-quality support and professional development.
• Lead delivery and strategic development of the ASYE programme across Essex and the Eastern Region.
• Design and deliver training and workshops with effective facilitation and learner engagement.
• Coach across social care to think creatively and reflect on best practice.
• Develop a Workforce Development strategy to support high-quality, customer-focused services.
• Create blended learning opportunities tailored to staff needs and value for money.
• Support workforce planning and developmental opportunities across initiatives.
• Provide expert advice and guidance for social workers.
• Build strong relationships across the Council, partners and voluntary agencies.
