Job summary

Babcock, based at HMNB Clyde in Faslane, Helensburgh, is seeking a Ship Control Officer of the Watch for a role available as full-time or part-time permanent. You will deliver Astute-class ship control training in a dedicated facility, evaluating data and updates while ensuring training quality and cost targets.

The role requires deep ship control system knowledge and submarine command-room experience, plus RN service background. Security clearance (SC) is mandatory for successful applicants.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of ship control systems operations.
• Experience managing submarine control rooms.
• Background in the Royal Navy submarine service.
• Previous training delivery experience (desirable)
• Recent Astute-class submarine experience (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Delivering Astute-class ship control training in a specialised facility.
• Reviewing and evaluating technical data and change notifications.
• Ensuring training meets prescribed standards, quality, and cost targets.
• Supporting students with varying levels of experience.
• Liaising with training design teams to provide subject matter expertise.
