Responsibilities

  • To support pupils with SEN and English as an additional language.
  • To assist with lunchtime clubs and other extracurricular activities.
  • To support school events and safeguarding of pupils.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Headteacher.

Associate Teacher (Teaching Assistant)

Salary is APT&C Scale 4 point 8 - £27,894.02

Job type: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and pro‑active individual who can be an excellent role model for children.

The successful candidate will be involved with one‑to‑one, small group support and whole class support across a range of areas – reading, writing, maths, English language development, general progress or specific needs. There will be extensive training and staff will be deployed according to their skills and interests.

This is a Church of England sponsored Academy seeking to add to its experienced team. Candidates should be committed to developing young people and have a high level of communication and organisation skills as well as good literacy and mathematics ability.

St Mary Magdalene Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Job Title: Associate Teacher

Reporting to: SENCo

The Role

To support pupils, through individual, small group and whole class support, with literacy, numeracy, general progress or specific needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • To bring to the Academy a passion for learning, belief in young people and a sense of dynamism and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • To actively promote academic achievement, the development of a “good life” and the opportunities available for young people to enrich their lives through the opportunities presented by living in London
  • To support individuals and groups of pupils to help them make rapid academic progress
  • To deliver pre‑planned lessons to support the development of grammar and reading or mathematics
  • To support pupils with special educational needs and English as an additional language
  • To support the running of lunchtime clubs and/or other extra‑curricular activities.
  • To support Academy events – music and drama performances, parent/open evenings and sports activities
  • To support the supervision of pupils at break, lunch and after school
