Job summary

St Mary Magdalene Academy in London is seeking an Associate Teacher (Teaching Assistant) to support pupils through 1:1, small groups and whole class activities across literacy, numeracy and English development.

The role involves delivering pre‑planned lessons, assisting with SEN and EAL pupils, and helping run lunchtime clubs and school events; a DBS check will be completed as part of safe recruitment.

Qualifications

• Be graduates.
• Have strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Have experience of working with young people.
• Be willing to actively participate in the school’s enrichment activities and wider community.
• Be committed to St Mary Magdalene Academy’s ethos of high expectations and nurturing happy and successful children.
• English and mathematics qualifications at GCSE grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Ideally a degree or higher level qualification.
• Qualified to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• To support pupils through individual, small group and whole class support in literacy, numeracy, general progress or specific needs.
• To deliver pre‑planned lessons to support grammar, reading and mathematics.
• To support pupils with SEN and English as an additional language.
• To assist with lunchtime clubs and other extracurricular activities.
• To support school events and safeguarding of pupils.
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Headteacher.
