Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate who specializes in renewable energy to join our SES team. Our team has a national presence, and we welcome applications from candidates who can commute to any of our offices across the UK.

Your role will include:

  • Acting as the technical and project lead for grid-scale/Front of the Meter (FTM) renewable energy generation and storage consultancy projects, mainly battery and solar power, with experience in other technologies being beneficial.
  • Overseeing project delivery for your portfolio.
  • Managing and developing client relationships.
  • Managing project finances.
  • Resource management for the team.
  • Leading, recruiting, and developing the team.

  • Net-zero carbon studies
  • Planning application support, including energy strategies and environmental assessments

  • Renewable energy development and consultancy
  • Carbon management verification

Our team combines engineers and consultants, enabling us to deliver comprehensive project inputs from inception onwards.

Ideal candidate experience:

  • Grid connection processes for renewable developments (c20-500MW)
  • Renewable energy and storage development including market and revenue streams
  • Revenue opportunities like grid services and auctions
  • Technical knowledge of renewable and energy storage technologies (PV, Wind, Hydro, Battery Storage, Hydrogen)
  • Stakeholder engagement with TNO/DNO
  • Development management for renewable projects
  • Planning process knowledge (LPA, TCPA, DCO, NSIP)
  • Supply chain and partner relationships
  • Industry changes and opportunities (Ofgem, NGESO, REMA, etc.)

Beneficial experience (not essential):

  • Business development in renewables
  • Team operations and resource planning
  • Managing junior staff
  • Process and technical improvements
