Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd is advertising an Associate/Senior Associate role in the Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team in Bristol. The role offers hybrid working with a top national law firm and a salary of £65,000–£90,000 per year, depending on experience.

You will handle contentious and non-contentious construction matters across energy, infrastructure, real estate, and public sector clients.

Formación

• 3-6 years PQE in contentious construction law (non-contentious experience also welcome).
• Experience with complex construction disputes (delay, disruption, defects, payment claims).
• Familiarity with NEC, JCT and FIDIC standard forms.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently.
• Client-focused and able to deliver high-quality legal advice.

Responsabilidades

• Advising on complex contractual issues with Partner support.
• Representing clients in adjudication, arbitration, and Technology and Construction Court proceedings.
• Supporting clients on energy, infrastructure, housing, highways and student accommodation projects.
• Advising on insolvency issues related to construction projects.
• Working with clients at all stages of the post-contract process.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Delegating to and mentoring Trainees and Paralegals.
• Supporting Partners on tenders and strategic planning.
• Participating in business development and contributing to team growth.

A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing Projects, Infrastructure & Construction (PIC) team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile contentious and non-contentious construction matters across a range of sectors, including infrastructure, energy, real estate development, and the public sector.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for a broad range of construction-related legal work, including:

• Advising on complex contractual issues with appropriate Partner support
• Representing clients in adjudication, arbitration, and Technology and Construction Court proceedings
• Supporting clients on energy, infrastructure, housing, highways, and student accommodation projects
• Advising on insolvency issues related to construction projects
• Working with clients at all stages of the post-contract process
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

• 3-6 years PQE in contentious construction law (non-contentious experience also welcome)

• Familiarity with standard industry forms such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC
• Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
