Associate SolicitorSedgwick Legal Services advises and handles disputes for major insurers, Lloyds syndicates, large corporates, utilities, and local authorities. This role will focus on property damage losses, including those caused by major fires, floods, building collapse, escape of water, and subsidence. Our Legal team leads from our Central Bristol Office, with colleagues in Cardiff and London. The role requires a hybrid working model with three days per week in our Bristol office.
Main duties and responsibilities include claims handling and case management of pre-litigated and litigated files, largely in the £10 – £50k arena , assisting on claims for other fee earners, obtaining evidence, and developing knowledge of litigation tactics and property-related insurance claims. You'll also ensure compliance with Sedgwick’s systems and procedures and meet internal targets for time recording and billing.

Professional Qualifications: Preferably have a degree or previous relevant legal experience.
Expertise : Knowledge of the litigation process is desirable.
Contract and Tort Knowledge: Be interested in and have a good working knowledge of general contract and tortious principles
Insurance Law: Be interested in and willing to learn insurance-based property damage law.
Technical Knowledge: Be interested in and willing to learn the technical aspects of construction and property claims investigations as required for the role.
Team Orientation: Be team-orientated, with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
Commercial Perspective: Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to claims settlement.
