Job Description
Based at Kings Cross Hospital, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.
Where the successful candidate is a current employee of a local authority, the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of Dundee City Council. Where the successful candidate is a current employee of an NHS employer the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of NHS Tayside. In the event that the successful candidate is not currently employed by a local authority or NHS employer, they will be given the choice of who will be the appropriate employer.

Requirements
You will have an SVQ Health/ Health and Social Care level 3, or equivalent, in relevant area.
Responsibilities
The post holder will play a key role in supporting marginalized people to access a range of activities which support health improvement. They will contribute to the delivery of community based interventions to improve life circumstances, support lifestyle changes and tackle the determinants of health and wellbeing using a motivational interviewing approach.
The Individual
You will have experience of working with individuals on a one to one basis preferably in a health and social care setting eg Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Social Care Worker.
You will have experience of lone working.
You will be IT literate and have excellent verbal communication skills, have the ability to work without supervision and use your own initiative.
You will have experience of dealing with challenging behaviour and have a good time management.
You will have the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
