Salary: £29,556 - £32,084 per year

Contract Type: Temporary

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Description

Based at Kings Cross Hospital, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Where the successful candidate is a current employee of a local authority, the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of Dundee City Council. If the successful candidate is a current employee of an NHS employer, the post will be offered under the terms and conditions of NHS Tayside. Candidates not currently employed by a local authority or NHS employer will be given the choice of the appropriate employer.

Requirements

You will have an SVQ Health/Health and Social Care Level 3, or equivalent, in a relevant area.

Responsibilities

The post holder will support marginalized individuals in accessing activities that promote health improvement. They will contribute to community-based interventions aimed at improving life circumstances, supporting lifestyle changes, and addressing determinants of health and wellbeing using a motivational interviewing approach.

The Individual

You will have experience working one-to-one with individuals, preferably in a health and social care setting, such as Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, or Social Care Worker.

You will have experience working independently (lone working).

You will be IT literate, possess excellent verbal communication skills, and be able to work independently using your initiative.

You will have experience dealing with challenging behavior and good time management skills.

You should be available to work occasional evenings and weekends.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dundee City Council.
