Job summary

GR Associates seeks an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver high-quality mechanical building services design across a range of projects in Birmingham. You will take designs from concept through construction, coordinating with clients, architects, developers, main contractors and other stakeholders.

You will apply sound building services principles, develop calculations and drawings, mentor junior engineers and help ensure energy efficiency, safety and buildability throughout the

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Experience in mechanical building services design.
• Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or BIM.
• Strong communication and deadline management.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical building services designs in line with project requirements and standards.
• Produce and review schematics, layouts, specifications and calculations.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; coordinate with clients and design teams.
• Resolve design clashes; coordinate with architectural, structural and electrical disciplines.
• Assist with site surveys, inspections and tender documentation.
