Introduction

As part of our strategy of continued growth, we are looking for an Associate and Managing Associate to join the Leeds Corporate Finance team and help support our expanding roster of Finance clients.

You will work closely with Andrew Fordham, the head of the Corporate Finance team in Leeds, acting for a wide variety of banks, financial institutions, lenders, sponsors, and both private and public corporates.

The Team

• Part of the Finance & Projects Group, our Corporate Finance team is a national team with significant resources across Leeds, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and overseas offices.
• We serve a diverse range of banks, financial institutions, and corporate and property clients on various financing transactions.
• Our practice covers the full product spectrum of our largest lender clients, including leveraged finance, real estate finance, corporate debt, infrastructure, and asset-based lending. We seek an Associate and a Managing Associate to work on these matters.

Role Expectations

• Advising and acting as the core panel for UK clearing banks, with exposure to large, high-profile international transactions.
• Supporting corporate borrowers on complex, high-value transactions.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships, providing trusted, timely, and high-quality advice.
• Taking on significant responsibility within a supportive, high-performing team environment.
• Engaging in continuous professional development through formal training, mentoring, coaching, and leadership programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• At least 2 years PQE with experience in Finance, Real Estate Finance, Acquisition/Leveraged Finance, or Asset-Based Lending.
• Enthusiastic, resilient, and ambitious in solving clients' legal challenges.
• Experienced in stakeholder engagement at all levels.
• Approach tasks with a consultative and thorough mindset.
• Efficient in managing diaries and tasks, ensuring high standards of client service.
• Confident in drafting clear, effective legal documents.
