Job summary

St Mary’s University, Twickenham, is seeking exceptional staff to shape its online learning future within a Catholic ethos and student-centred approach.

The role focuses on delivering teaching, module convening, and contributing to innovative digital pedagogy within the online team, while supporting students and integrating into the university’s mission. While the closing date is 30 September 2026, applications are encouraged from all sections of the community.

Responsibilities

• To undertake specific teaching, learning and assessment duties.
• To act as a module convenor on the carousel delivery of multiple modules across an academic/calendar year.
• To contribute to team approaches to digital learning and online teaching.
• To work with a wider online team to enhance student learning experiences through innovative digital pedagogy.
• To participate in the management and decision-making structures within the St Mary’s University Online Team.
• To provide support to individual students and to uphold the University’s tradition of student‑centred supported learning.
• To engage with and strengthen the University Mission and to participate in the broader academic life of the University.
• To possess a strong commitment to ones’ own academic and professional development through professional practice, scholarship, research or knowledge transfer.
• To undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Online Learning.
• In addition, the successful applicant will uphold their own research profile and engage in the supervision of student research projects.
