Job summary

The Sheffield College is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Science to deliver lectures, workshops and practical sessions. The role involves preparing teaching materials, assessing and moderating work, and contributing to curriculum design. Experience in vocational science is advantageous.

This is a zero-hour contract on an hourly rate. Based within Sparks Teaching Services, the post offers opportunities for CPD and student support across scheduled modules, with admin and meeting duties as part of

  • Formal scheduled delivery of learning and teaching is required.
  • Preparation of teaching materials and resources is essential.
  • Assessment and moderation activities are part of the role.

About The role

Working for?our subsidiary company? Sparks Teaching Services a s an Associate Lecturer in Science you will provide support on a specified module or modules, including the preparation and delivery of Lectures, Workshops and Practical Sessions. Experience of successfully delivering vocational science would be advantageous for this role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of teaching materials
  • Assessment and moderation
  • Curriculum and assessment design as appropriate
  • Responsibility for administration relevant to the post
  • Student Support
  • Independent Studies supervision
  • Attendance at Meetings e.g. Programme

What we can offer you

As the successful candidate, you will be offered an hourly rate of between £13.72 - £20.93 depending on duties performed. Please note this is a zero hour contract.
